Keyboards have been clacking away in Year 6 this week as our budding young authors put the finishing touches on their entries for the prestigious BBC 500 Words competition.
The children have been using their weekly computing lessons to craft, edit, and polish their masterpiece stories. From fantastical adventures, stories of suspense and heart-warming tales of everyday heroics, the sheer variety of imagination on display across the classroom has been truly astonishing.
Using word processing software, the pupils have taken full control of their creative process – learning how to format their text, check their word counts, and edit their draft ideas to hit that magic 500-word target. It’s been fantastic to see their digital skills and creative flair come together so seamlessly.
A massive well done to every single pupil in Year 6 for working so hard on their stories. We are so proud of your dedication and incredible creative spirit! Everyone at school is keeping their fingers crossed for you – good luck, Year 6, we hope to see some of your names on the shortlist!
