Weekly Update

Dear Parents,

Please make sure you have read the “reopening of schools letter” sent out today.

We do hope you have managed in some way to enjoy the lovely weather we have had over the last week and managed to get outside while maintaining social distancing.

We are now into the next stage of lockdown with the wider opening of school. I am sorry we cannot just reopen the school for everyone and return to normal! These are unusual times and we hope that at some point they will be a distant memory.

It is important to ensure our children at home are continuing with their schoolwork and practicing key numeracy and literacy skills. It will be difficult for teachers over this half term to teach in school and set work for pupils at home. We will be continuing to do so but it may look a little different. If you cannot access online learning at home, please arrange to pick up work from school.

There will be a restricted staff in the school office, but a member of staff will be in the office in the mornings. Please do not hesitate to contact the school by email or phone if you need any support. Class Teachers will not have the capacity to contact parents in the same way as we have been doing, but we will try our best to keep in contact. Please use the class email address if you need to speak to your teacher.

Collective Worship

Yesterday was Pentecost Sunday. It marks fifty days since Easter Day and brings the Easter season to an end. Pentecost celebrates the birthday of the Church and marks the coming of the Holy Spirit upon Christians. It was a time of great change and transformation. The Holy Spirit empowered Christians to go out and share God’s message of love and grace to the whole world.

The Holy Spirit is with Christians as a comforter and guide and helps us to change our way of thinking to become more like Christ.

The song “Amazing Grace” was written by John Newton in 1773. It tells of how he found out that God’s love is amazing. Click on the link below to see how the Holy Spirit can unite nations at this time.

Even though we are not together at this time in school, we are together in the love of God through His Holy Spirit. What can you do to show God’s love and amazing grace to others this week?
