As you know, primary schools in Lewisham were directed to remain closed after the Christmas holiday and that this applies to the majority of children.
This is due to the extremely high COVID-19 infection rate within our borough. We understand that this decision will be reviewed by the government on 18th January, in line with the latest information on infection rates at that time. The advice is that where possible parents should keep children at home.
We will be following government expectations that only children of critical workers and vulnerable pupils who have an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP); those with an assigned Social Worker or other circumstances listed can attend school during this time.
The authorised list of critical workers and other circumstances considered vulnerable are detailed on our letter to parents.
School will be closed to all children on Monday 4th January for INSET. On Tuesday 5th and Wednesday 6th of January, all children will be taught remotely. This will allow us time to put plans into place regarding all new arrangements. Information about remote learning will be circulated in due course.
Please note that there will be no after-school clubs operating during the partial closure period.
